The vast Truk Lagoon is a true wreck mecca, featuring astounding ships submerged from WWII. Go further inland and you will see imposing Japanese lighthouses overlooking some of the finest views of Micronesia. This beach and reef fringed island is filled with all kinds of attractions, from archeological ruins of the Neolithic age to primeval mangrove forest canals. Its virgin reef is known for its diverse marine life while its natural harbors are home to WWII wrecks. Those looking for high-altitude adventures can also climb the island’s tallest mountain, Mt. Finkol, which stands 2,064 ft above sea level. Kosrae is also home to FSM’s Giant Clam Farm, the stunning Supyen and Saolong waterfalls, Menke Ruins, and the fascinating Wiya Bird Cave, where thousands of species reside.
