Chad Overflight Permit Regulation and Procedures

If you're an operator of a business jet or a commercial airline with plans to flyover Chad airspace, obtaining a Chad Overflight Permit from the Chad Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is mandatory. As a flight dispatcher, it's important to have a good understanding of the requirements for obtaining this permit, including the fact that the issuing of an overflight permit confirms that there is no political or security objection to your airline, aircraft, or country of origin/destination and that there are no outstanding navigation fees due to the ATC authority.

  1. What are CAA's working hours, including whether they are open on weekends?
  2. Which aircraft documents must be submitted with the overflight request?
  3. Are there any fees charged by the CAA for processing the permit?
  4. What is the official validity period of the overflight permit, as determined by the CAA?
  5. How can the Chad air navigation bill be obtained, either through IATA or a local agent?
To obtaining a Chad overflight permit, there are a few other factors to consider when planning your flight through Chad airspace. Firstly, it’s essential to review the rules and regulations of the CAA to ensure you understand any restrictions or requirements for flying in their airspace. Additionally, it may be necessary to obtain other permits and clearances from local authorities. It is always advisable to work with an experienced aviation services provider who can assist with all aspects of flight planning and permitting. For more information about Chad overflight permits and other aviation-related matters, check out the resources available from organizations like the International Air Transport Association (IATA) or industry publications such as Aviation Week.
